Avellino, 11 January 2022 – It’s a manhunt after theescape of three inmates last night from the Avellino prison: one of the three, all foreigners, he would be a terrorist with 27 years to serve, the Penitentiary Police Union – S.PP.

The escape seems to be taken from a film: the three inmates made a hole in the cell and lowered themselves into the courtyard of the penitentiary with the sheets, and they climbed over the fence thanks to the material and the bins stacked on the spot. But for one of the three the escape ended immediately, blocked by a patrol of the carabinieri and by the staff of the penitentiary police of the prison in the Bellizzi hamlet.

The two on the run are a 23-year-old from Romania and a 41-year-old from Morocco. “From the first reconstructions it seems therefore there was an escape plan well organized with a car outside that allowed the two to get away taking advantage of the very limited number of agents present and on duty in Bellizzi, just eight units. It is therefore necessary to strengthen research operations and show great attention to the danger of escapees“, explains in a note the general secretary of the prison police union Aldo Di Giacomo. “Among the three escaped inmates there is a Moroccan who seems to belong to a terrorist organization and who must serve 27 years in prison”, continues the note, which underlines how “the daring escape, according to the most classic of film scripts, it is the clearest sign of the total failure of prison management “.
