Bologna, 16 October 2021 – The third day of Serie A basketball championship – which began with the internal success of the Happy Casa Brindisi at the expense of Fortitudo Bologna – it continued with the victories of the Dolomiti Energia Trento and Virtus Segafredo Bologna. The Trentino team has taken the second consecutive seal breaking Reggio Emilia 78-74. On the shields between the bianconeri the trio composed by Jordan Caroline (19 points and 7 rebounds), Diego Flaccadori (17 points) e Cameron Reynolds (18 points). The 12 points and 11 assists of Andrea Cinciarini, 17 points from Osvaldas Olisevicius and 16 from Mikael Hopkins were not enough for Unahotels. After a first half played in substantial balance, Trento tried the first extension reaching +10 on (43-53), but Reggio clung to Olisevicius to question everything and grab the new equality at 55 points. The red and white, however, did nothing when Trento accelerated again with the bombs of Flaccadori and Reynolds at the dawn of the fourth fraction. Caja’s men, who finished at -11, were no longer able to fill.
Virtus drops poker
The Italian champions of the Virtus Segafredo Bologna who knocked out Allianz Trieste with a net 95-79. The unmistakable stamp of Jakarr Sampson (17 points), Marco Belinelli (20 points) and of Amar Alibegovic (16 points). More than positive, however, also the performance of Ty-Shawn Alexander, very precious from the bow. The bianconeri raised the decibels of their volume at the end of a first quarter from 35 points scored and 29 conceded, and then in the second they increased their tally by touching for the first time the double-digit advantage on 41-31. The deficit bar was then raised up to 57-41, but Trieste did not give up and in the third fraction found the strength to get closer to -6 (66-60), pushed by Adrian Banks (21 points ). The effort made, however, cost dearly to the Giulians who collapsed in the fourth quarter under the blows of Alexander and Alibegovic.
