In Torre Grande the Sardinian championships. Women, victory for the couple Cusinu and Mirtillo
ORISTANO. High-level beach tennis over the past weekend. At the Marina di Torre Grande the Sardinian beach tennis championships of mixed doubles of the fourth category and the over 40 male and female doubles were held. 134 players took to the beach to compete for the coveted titles. Among the women to get on the top step of the podium Lucia Cusinu and Patrizia Mirtillo who got the better of Murranca-Darold in the final. Among the men applause and title for Paolo Tronci and Ruben Puddu: in the final they tamed Locci and Carboni’s ambitions for glory.
Great show also in the mixed doubles with Ines Greco and Riccardo Manenti good at winning against Cusinu and Fratini. In the fourth category, good Roberta Scardamaglia and Gabriele Cioni on Pisanu / Lampis. In the Double Mixed Open a + b, gold medal for Urru / Fratini against Manenti / Loi. “The excellent success of the event and the recognition by the Italian Tennis Federation with the assignment of these regional championships and the next makes us proud – explains Sebastiano Cau, president of Eolo Beach Sports -. Beach tennis in Oristano is reaching high levels, an award that comes from the work done over the years. My applause goes to the great winter activity developed by the technical staff of Eolo Beach Sports who have been able to give continuity to the activity of the competitive sector by concretely contributing to strengthening the numbers of our association through the work led by Diego Fratini, with the collaboration of Alberto Tamponi at the helm of the competitive team and from this year Lucia Cusinu who led the athletic training of the competitive sector and to the boys who do their utmost to ensure that everything is perfect during the tournaments ».
In the busy summer 2021 calendar of Eolo Beach Sports, another Sardinian championship is scheduled, the absolute men’s doubles and women’s doubles from 9 to 11 July. The highlight of the season will be reached with the 2021 edition of the Eolo Beach Contest Proxienergy which will take place from 30 July to 1 August with a prize pool of 6,300 euros, one of the highest in the Italian beach tennis world.
