TREVISO. Benetton feeds the trocar department with the signing of Onisi Ratave. The Fijian winger has signed a contract that will bind him to the green-and-white colors from 1 July 2022 until 30 June 2024.

Onisi Ratave was born on June 6, 1992 in Rewa, in an archipelago of Gau Island in Fiji. 179 cm tall by 100 kg, Ratave is a player with an absolutely formidable mix of technical and physical qualities. Ala, able to play also from second center, has among his qualities the ability to break the tackles of the opposing defenses. Furthermore Onisi is an extremely fast player and a very talented finisher.

Ratave initially grew up rugby in a local team of Rewa, then played for Namosi in the Skipper Cup, the Fijian championship, and finally exploded into rugby that he counted two years ago. He got the call from the Bay of Plenty New Zealanders in 2021 and in the NPC he played three games scoring three tries. He was also part of the Fiji Islands selection of Rugby Seven in 2020 and 2021. A year ago he also featured in the extended Flying Fijans team that faced the All Blacks.

In the current year he moved to Fijian Drua, a team that belongs to the best Super Rugby championship in the southern hemisphere. In ten appearances he has achieved six goals, leaving his mark with his powerful accelerations. Now for Ratave the transfer to the green-and-white court.
