Benetton Rugby is indeed happy to announce that Nacho Brex and Luca Mauritius have signed the contract renewal until June 30, 2023. The two centers, pillars of the recent history of the Treviso franchise, represent the eleventh and twelfth confirmation in the Lions squad for next season.
Born in Buenos Aires on May 26, 1992, Juan Ignacio Brex he lives in a family of rugby players of which he is the only trocar. He grew up in San Cirano, where he immediately showed his great quality and managed to get the call to wear the Jaguares jersey in 2013 and 2014, and that of the Pampas XV always in 2013.
He wears the Argentina shirt in the Under 19 and Under 20 youth selections, but above all he builds his fame on the international circuit with Argentina Seven. Brex is a very skilled center as a tackler and rocky on the defensive. It definitely explodes in the Viadana during the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 vintages, where it wins the Excellence Trophy for two consecutive years. In the summer of 2017 he landed in green and white and so far in the Benetton Rugby jersey he has collected 43 appearances, seasoned with 6 goals. Born in Milan on February 22, 1991, 185 cm x 97 kg, Luca’s physical structure since his youth Mauritius and his technical skills, tackling and ball-in-hand percussion over all, made him the talented three-quarters center he is today. After taking his first steps with the ASR, in the 2009 season he moved to Grande Milano in Serie A. From there, through the FIR Academy, in 2011 he arrived in Excellence wearing the Crociati shirt; in November of that year Brunel, former coach of the National Major, places him in the blue group in view of the Six Nations 2012 in which he will make his debut in Rome against England.
Luca’s green-and-white experience began as a permit player in 2011, in those races when he was just twenty years old he showed great dynamism and excellent accelerations that in the 2013/2014 season allow him to definitively become a Lion. Unfortunately, his career has been conditioned by some injuries but, as Leone as he is, Morisi has overcome all these difficulties confirming himself as a very important element of the Treviso roster for several seasons, so much so that he has been an interpreter of Benetton Rugby for ten years, able to play both the role of first and second center. To date, 85 appearances in green and white In 2018 he constantly returned to the Italian national team and played 5 appearances in the 2019 Six Nations and another 5 in the 2020 Six Nations, marking two goals. In between for him two other caps in the 2019 World Cup held in Japan.
