Heart-pounding match against Virtus Resana in the first round for salvation. The boys from Scanu get reassembled. Then the shot and the miracle at the last second

FELT

Head and heart are worth the victory for the Joint & Welding Feltre: at Luzzo the quintet of the Scanu technician wins 70 – 68 against Virtus Resana in the last second of the race, at the end of a breathtaking clash and for strong hearts, winning race 1 of the playouts.

The road is still long for the hosts, who to hope for salvation will now have to face the delicate return match already this weekend, in the insidious away match on Saturday evening in the Treviso area; winning it would avoid Game 3, thus closing the season in Serie C Silver in the best possible way.

As for the match against Resana, J&W takes the field in the first quarter with Gobbo, Botti, Camazzola, Cossalter and Luca Bettin.

At the starting whistle Resana attacks with his head down, but Feltre holds up the impact and Botti immediately plays the charge with the first two points.

The hosts then stretched out with Carlo Mattiello 7-3, but Sperti took them back, breaking through the Feltre rearguard.

Scanu then reorganizes the defensive structure, and the benefits reach the end of the partial, which ends 19-14.

The teams restart with the same intensity in the second quarter, which in less than five minutes throws the J&W on 28-20. The guests are unable to sink the blow, allowing Scanu’s men to attack with Mattiello and Bettin, who drag Feltre to 36-23.

Campagnaro, however, keeps Resana’s hopes alive, but Camazzola scores a triple with applause (44-37), making Luzzo roar.

In the third set the tension is palpable: despite Feltre leading on +7, the result is always in the balance, because at any moment the game can change.

The scoreboard in the gym, which turns off due to electrical problems, brings a bit of calm.

Nonetheless, when the game resumes ten minutes later, the show is not lacking (57-47).

In the last quarter the unthinkable happens.

The boys from Scanu go out little by little, favoring the guest comeback up to 68-68.

Luzzo turns into a hellish bedlam, in which nothing is understood anymore: on the pitch the schemes jump and the battle moves to the physical level.

It is perhaps the most exciting moment of the entire match, because both teams know that the slightest mistake could be fatal.

The battle continues until the fateful moment is reached, when there are ten seconds left in the game: the J&W pours into attack, and from the left Camazzola sees Luca Bettin on the other side of the field, serving him the ball; the player intercepts the pass of his partner, raises his head and sends the ball to the basket.

At that moment the audience is all on their feet, because Bettin’s shot never seems to reach its destination, in that basket. And when the point is good, Luzzo explodes, because a second later the referee whistles the end of the game, effectively sanctioning the glory of Feltre (70-68).
