At the Cassano Spinola cross-track the last assault of the Iberians is rejected, the Junior Trophy is also on the bulletin board

RIVANAZZANO TERME.

The 95th Six Days of Enduro ended with a real triumph for the Italian colors, considered by fans to be the Motorcycle Olympics. Just a week ago not even the most daring supporters of the blue jerseys would have dared to predict such a resounding and authoritative victory: in the lead from the beginning to the end of the grueling off-road marathon that carried the caravan of the Six Days up and down, along the hills of the Valley Staffora, first, and then Val Curone, until yesterday’s epilogue with the show test at the Cassano Spinola cross-track. In the magical year for Italian sport, therefore, here is another extraordinary affirmation, with the victory of the World Trophy for the team made up of Andrea Verona, Davide Guarneri, Thomas Oldrati and Matteo Cavallo, and of the Junior one for the trio made up of Lorenzo Macoritto, Matteo Pavoni and Manolo Morettini.

For the Azzurri, with the advantage and, at the same time, the pressure to run as hosts, it could not have been better. The satisfaction of the tricolor patrol was uncontainable when the checkered flag put an end to the last heat and handed over the 95th edition to the annals. Beat Spain. On the other hand, the women’s trophy ended with the victory, almost never in question, of the US national team: the stars and stripes representative, dragged by the extraordinary Brandy Richards, winner of the category classification, got the better of the rivals of Gran Brittany and Spain. Canada was also on the podium as the revelation team of the race.

Moto Club Pavia on the podium

We must not forget, however, that the Six Days also saw the competitors of the Club Trophy in the race, protagonists of tests, in many ways, even more spectacular. The Moto Club Pavia, with one of the five teams at the start, the Senior one, is arrived to fight for the podium with the Americans of the Trail Pros-Us Sprint Enduro team: just under 5 seconds the gap between the two teams after 5 days of competition and a really difficult undertaking, on paper, for the Pavesi, called to overcome the stars and stripes rivals on a terrain, the cross-track, which saw them as favorites. Yet, at the end of the race, the feat was successful and for Niccolò Bruschi, Niccolò Scarpelli and Guido Conforti it was possible to celebrate a race that would have been considered excellent in any case. Two prestigious affirmations have also arrived for the Moto Club Pavia, starting with the victory in the Challenge reserved for teams equipped with RK technical material: here Pavia Senior preceded his American rivals (Cadde Handerson, Travis Raynaud and Talon Soenksen), while at third place went to the Moto Club La Marca Trevigiana-Africa Team, made up of expert rally raid riders such as Alessandro Botturi, Leonardo Tonelli and Maurizio Gerini. No less prestigious was the second place won in the Lombardy Trophy, reserved for the Italian teams competing.
