The weekend of the FIB / ASI Paralympic Tournament is approaching in great stages, which will award the ‘OSA – Oltre lo Sport Agonistico’ Trophy for Paralympic bowls and the ‘BMW Especially’ Trophy for the winners of the Paralympic Boccia competition, the latter sports discipline sponsored by the prestigious car brand. At the Torrino Federal Technical Center in Rome it will be a weekend that will mark the resumption of competitive activities for the Paralympic basketball movement, but it will also represent an important moment of promotion for the entire Italian Bocce Federation. The FIB / ASI Paralympic Tournament was born from the memorandum of understanding signed between the president of Federbocce, Marco Giunio De Sanctis, and the number one of the National ASI (Italian Sports and Social Associations), Claudio Barbaro. The two presidents will be the protagonists of the webinar to be held on Saturday 15 May, starting at 2.15 pm, with the conduct of the journalist Claudio Arrigoni and broadcast in live streaming on the communication channels of the Italian Bocce Federation: the Facebook page and the channel Youtube. It will be an innovative and interactive format, in which we will talk about the Paralympic sports movement, in which, together with De Sanctis and Barbaro, the president of the CIP, Luca Pancalli, Roberto Olivi of the Communication Department of BMW, the Capitoline administration, will also take part. a representative of Campo Marzio (partner of FIB), the President of Sport and Health, Vito Cozzoli, the Paralympic athletes Oney Tapia, Nicole Orlando and, in video link, Annalisa Minetti and Martina Caironi. Before the webinar, the Boccia Paralympic gymnasium will be inaugurated at the Federal Technical Center, “a structure that completes the high-level project of the FIB regarding the Torrino structure”, as underlined by the president Marco Giunio De Sanctis.

The program

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May there will be three competitions, which will highlight the highly inclusive connotation of the sport of bowls, with a single common denominator: to field the skills of intellectual / relational (DIR) and physical disabled players for Paralympic bowls. and of the athletes who practice the Paralympic Boccia, the latter included in the program of the Paralympic Games and practicable by athletes with very serious disabilities. The competitions will be held from 9 to 12.30 and from 15.30 to 19.30 on Saturday 15 with the finals scheduled from 9.30 on Sunday 16.

The participants

At the start of the Paralympic Boccia competition, which will award the ‘BMW Specialmente’ Trophy, the following athletes: Eugenio Migliaccio (Pianeta Boccia Rome), Elisa Gili (Disboccia Pinerolo), Giulia Marchisio (Don Gino Bosticco), Diego Gilli (Sportento Torino) , Valentina Carratta (Calimerese), Carlotta Visconti (Sportento Torino), Renata Busettini (Superhabily Abbiategrasso), Manuel Tartaglia (Planet Boccia), Francesco Ceccarelli (Planet Boccia), Leonardo Marchetti (Planet Boccia), Daniele Risa (Planet Boccia), Andrea Terriaca (Pianeta Boccia), Gabriele Valente (Pianeta Boccia), Riccarda Ambrosi (Superhabily Abbiategrasso). For the Paralympic bowls, the winners of which will be awarded the OSA Trophy, on the other hand, will participate in the Individual Sitting competition: Mauro Piacente (AVIS Campobasso), Angelo Tornusciolo (Oltre gli Ostacoli Benevento), Gino Giorgi (ASCIP Ostia) and Antonio Friolo (Martanese) . The Individual Standing competition will be played by: Luciano Parrella (Beyond the Obstacles Benevento), Salvatore Cioffi (Beyond the Obstacles Benevento), Vincenzo Masi (Badia Ceccano) and Vincenzo Spinoccia (ASBID Imola). In addition, there will be a duo competition with a sitting athlete and a standing athlete. It will also be an important weekend from a political point of view for the Italian Bocce Federation: on Friday 14, in fact, the Council of Regional Presidents will be held, the following day the Federal Council. “We will all be together for the first time since the serious health emergency.
