Excellent start in 2021 after a difficult year

BORGOFRANCO D’IVREA

After 2020, annus horribilis for sport in general and for youth in particular, even the young cyclists have resumed competing and in the regional panorama, the Ads Tessiore, which is based in Borgofranco d’Ivrea, is making honor in the Giovanissimi category (from 7 to 12 years of age): “The season started only in June – explains the sporting director Maurizio Cilenti -, late compared to the canonical federal calendar which saw young riders engaged since April, but it is it was nice to get back to experiencing the atmosphere of the races ». There are six standard bearers of Tessiore: Giulio Giannotto from Cesnola and Giacomo Martensini from Lessolo in the category G1 (7 years old), Leonardo Quacchia from Montalto Dora (G2, eight years old), Jacopo Giannotto di Cesnola (G5, eleven years old) and, in the category G6 (twelve years), Lorenzo Balma di San Ponso and Samuel Brustia from Eporediese. «The results of this first part of the season are more than satisfactory – continues Cilenti – and we are ready to consolidate them in the remaining races».

The first success of the season was signed by Lorenzo Balma in the Fratelli Caletti GP in Oleggio, a race in which Samuel Brustia finished third. The two then reversed their positions in Rosta of the twelfth edition of the Papà Benotto Trophy, with Brustia on the top step of the podium and Balma third; Brustia was then confirmed on the podium with the third place in Pollenzo (Cuneo) in the race organized by Alba Langhe and the place of honor in the “track type” race (sprint for points on the road circuit) in Sant’Albano Stura (Cuneo ). On the podium also Giulio Gianotto, second in Pollenzo, third in Rosta and Torre San Giorgio (Alba Langhe) and second again in Bruino in the 1st Mellano Trophy.

In the women’s field, excellent results on the road of two young cousins from Valle d’Aosta, Melanie and Martina Bosonin, from Donnaz, standard bearers of Vtt Arnad, both engaged in the G5 category and led by ds Claudio Casadei. Melanie won in Oleggio in the Fratelli Caletti trophy and in Castelletto Ticino in the Salmoiraghi trophy; two successes to which must be added as many third places in Pollenzo and Rosta. Martina has not yet tasted the flavor of victory, but she has already put on excellent placings: she finished second in Borgomanero, third in Torre San Giorgio and still second in the Città di Massa trophy. –
