Uja, a member of the British team who won the silver medal in the men’s 4x100m relay in the Olympic Games, has been temporarily suspended due to a positive doping test during the Tokyo Olympics.

The Athletics Integrity Committee (AIU), independent of the World Athletics Federation, issued a statement on the 12th saying that after the Tokyo Olympics closed, Tokyo’s doping testing laboratory notified the International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) to express Uja’s excitement during the event. Two prohibited substances were found in drug testing. During the Tokyo Olympics, three track and field athletes have been temporarily banned because they tested positive for doping.

The 27-year-old Ujah won the men’s 100-meter championship at the British domestic championship in June this year. He was the first player of the British 4x100m relay team at the Tokyo Olympics. The British team eventually lost to the Italian team by 0.01 second and won the silver medal.

Ujah has yet to respond to this. AIU stated that he has the right to request the opening of bottle B urine samples for testing. If bottle B testing also finds prohibited substances, the case will be handed over to the International Sports Arbitration Tribunal for a ruling. (Reporter Zhang Wei)
