The first edition of the Women padel Cup took place on Sunday, organized at the El Gioviale sports center in Burolo by the association of the same name. The winner of the tournament was the couple made up of Benedetta Mazzucchetti and Manè Townsend. In the final they defeated the couple formed by Manuela Bosi and Silvia Pizzigoni 2-0 (partial 6-3, 6-1). The final for the third place was more fought, between the duo made up of Contini-Ferrando and Perino-Rastagno, with the final victory going to the first for 2-1. At the start of the event twelve couples divided into four groups. The formula of the tournament provided for the passage to the quarters of the first four, while the second and third of each group faced each other in a preliminary round with direct elimination.
In the quarter-finals the winning couple Mazzucchetti-Townsend beat the Biava-Biglia duo 2-0, then in the semifinals the Contini-Perino couple and also in this circumstance, the final score was 2-0. A clear path, already started from the elimination round, with the first place conquered with full merit and full points (6 points), beating both the Vivian-Nocco couple and the one formed by Chiuminatto-Pisetta.
Given the good success achieved, the members of the El Gioviale Sports Center will soon plan to organize new tournaments. –
