The pupil of the Bsa Pavia master, Fabio Paragnani, from the technical center of the Italian national team in Assisi moved to Sofia, Bulgaria to fight in the Strandja tournament. In the first round Bustamante against the Kazakh Rimma Volosenko, fresh from Tokyo, in kg. 60, she was defeated at points 3-2: the Russian and Ukrainian judges gave the Pavese 30-27 as the winner, for the English and the Polish the Kazakh winner by one point and the Estonian saw the Kazakh advantage 30 ā27.
Ā«I accept the verdict with some reasonable doubts – explains Paragnani – now Valentina is in Canada, invited to act as sparring partner for the Canadian national team. She then she will fly to Guayaquil, to fight in a tournament reserved for the South American national teams. I’ll join Valentina tomorrow. The Pan-American tournament is very important for us Ā». –
