First the memory of Silvia Piccini, then the Open race that smiles at Emanuela Zanetti. The Pink Day of Casale rewards the 21-year-old from Brescia of Isolmant Premac, capable of winning the restricted sprint of seven fugitives, forcing the Top Girls-Fassa Bortolo to chew bitter: second Gaia Masetti, third Giorgia Vettorello (daughter of Cristian, sports director of the Conscio), fourth Debora Silvestri (blue at the European Championships). Ninth Silvia Zanardi (Bepink), recent Under 23 continental gold. Among the Juniors, first classified Monica Castagna (Wilier) and third Elisa De Vallier (Conscio). Curiosity: Zanetti had already established itself in Casale two years ago, in the first edition.
But the Pink Day is linked to extra sporting meanings: it was named in memory of Silvia Piccini, the Friulian cyclist of Conscio who died last April, after being overwhelmed by a car in training. Conscio himself organized the event and at the start of the Open there were Silvia’s family members: Federciclo, following some projects launched in recent months, promised road safety initiatives. Pink balloons and shiny eyes at the start, the Juniors of the Conscious at the head of the group.
Returning to the results, in the Acute Allieve alla sprint of the Turin Vittoria Grassi (VO2) in front of the home athlete Virginia Iaccarino (Conscio), among the Beginners Susan Paset of the Young Team Arcade prevails on Silvia Ciaghi (Trentino). –
