What happens today:
In Istanbul the draw for the group stage of the Champions League 2021-22 (live on Channel 20 and Sky). The 32 finalists are divided into 8 groups of 4 teams. The first includes the 6 champions of the championships with the best national Uefa ranking, plus Chelsea, European champion and Villareal (winner of the Europa League).
The other three bands are organized according to the UEFA club rankings. The 8 groups will be made up of one team per group. The first two of each group qualify for the round of 16, the third play the playoffs against the second of the Europa League to access the round of 32 of the same competition.
It will start on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 September with the first day, after the break for the national teams.
Juve have been out in the round of 16 or quarter for four years, Inter are back from three consecutive eliminations in the group stage. Atalanta is entering the competition for the third consecutive year, while Milan return after seven years.
