The sprinter from Vigevano contributes to the success of the Brescia team. Placements for Selley and Prina in the 800s and in the triple

Another gold for Chiara Melon, this time at the absolute Italian championships in Rovereto: the sprinter from Vigevano won, in fact, the title in the 4×100 relay with her club’s team, Atletica Brescia. Melon, reserve of the Azzurri relay that will go to Tokyo, started in the first fraction and immediately launched the Brescia team in the lead, before the companions Gaia Pedreschi, Alessia Niotta and Chiara Torrisi completed the work, printing at the end an excellent 45 ” 42.
In the individual race, Chiara, on the other hand, won the final thanks to an excellent second place with a time of 11 “77 in the fraction won by Anna Bongiorni, who then became the Italian champion in the final, a race in which the 20-year-old ducal athlete trained by Fabio Sangermani improved in the final by running in 11 ”68, a time that guaranteed her seventh place. In the race in the 100 there was also the junior of Cus Pavia, Monica Barbieri, who was very unlucky: the cussina in fact ran in a battery with a wall of wind against (-3.3 m / s). «In those conditions Monica didn’t have the possibility to grab the final – explains the Cussino technician Marcello Scarabelli – but she could have improved, unfortunately the wind was really too strong. She finished in 12 ”35, with a good start, but obviously more adult athletes with greater strength levels had the best on the launch even if the times were very high for all the sprinters, in her as in two other heats, except than in the last ». Breanna Selley, 17 year old from Pavia from Bracco, the only student in Italy to have managed to run within the minimum required to participate in the absolute Italians, finished in fourteenth place in the 800 with a time of 2’10 ”94, her second best time. In the 200, Melon showed up at the start of his battery by now low of energy and concluded, also thanks to the usual wind against 2.5, in 24 ”43, very far from his personal and tenth overall time, therefore out of the final.
Prina, personal in the triple
In the triple jump, Alessandra Prina, another athlete from Pavia registered with Bracco, concluded in ninth place with the measure of 12.72: the pupil of Carla Barbarino established the measure at the first jump, as the subsequent attempts were two void: Alessandra in Rovereto got her new personal best but the performance was not enough to guarantee her the final. –
