The defender is the son of one of the flags of the sixteen-year-olds “My dad cheers for them, but he hopes I’ll play it well”

A special derby. Sunday’s match at the Polisportivo between Belluno and San Giorgio Sedico will not be like any other match. A special afternoon for Denis Chiesa, born in 2001, who grew up in the Belluno youth academy but with his father, Stefano, a manager in the Sedicense club where he takes care of the youth sector, after having been a flag when the team played in Lebanon.

Denis is playing a season of the highest level, almost always as a central defender, but also as a midfielder if necessary. This flexibility has allowed Mr. Lauria to be able to deploy him where he was most needed, also changing his position during the game.

In the first leg match Belluno had won on the field of sixteen by two goals to one thanks to the scoring of Simone Corbanese and Francesco Posocco, while he had shortened the bomber Sottovia in the second half.

“It will be a totally different match compared to the one in October”, explains Denis Chiesa, “the team we will face has changed a lot and Luca Tiozzo has arrived on the bench, a great coach I know and whom I have faced a couple of times in these years. San Giorgio Sedico is healthy at the moment and comes from three consecutive victories, plays good football and convinces. It will be a really tough game. Who will my dad cheer on? He always hopes for a positive result for San Giorgio Sedico, but if possible that my good performance is not missing. Let’s say that in these matches he doesn’t get too unbalanced ».

After 24 days you are in fourth place with 39 points and a game to recover. Salvation is almost in your pocket, can we start talking about the playoffs?

«Salvation is practically achieved», continues Chiesa, «we have to think about one game at a time, however. The playoffs are a difficult but not impossible goal. We can do great things, we are a good group, we were also last year but this year there is something more that is making us take a leap. The important thing is not to give up otherwise it is easy to fall ».

In the summer of 2019 Venice wanted you to play in Primavera B but you decided to stay in the yellow and blue.

«I had talked to Lazzari about this possibility, but I have always believed that in Serie D, and playing with the greatest, you learn more. I was going to play in Primavera 2 and there weren’t too many prospects for the future, so this option didn’t appeal to me and I never took it that much into consideration. It went well that way. I found continuity last year with De Agostini and I’m playing again this season. The future? We will see, for now my main thought is to do well here ».

Masoch disqualified

The Agordino midfielder will miss the match against San Giorgio Sedico due to the double yellow card against Trento and much contested by the player.

injured

Mister Lauria will also have to deal with the injuries of Bragagnolo and Posocco.

The first has muscle problems and the second is still struggling with a blow to the hip. At the moment it is difficult to say whether at least one of the two can recover for the derby. –
