The child he had already been hospitalized at San Pio di Benevento from 15 to 20 January for a milder head injury, then he was discharged and on 25 hospitalized again in much more serious conditions at Rummo. The carabinieri of the Samnite provincial command investigate the causes of death, trying to understand whether it is a domestic accident or violence. The child lived with his mother and other family members, including cousins, while the father is detained.
Hospitalized and then discharged
Due to the seriousness of the case, the doctors transferred the child to the Rummo hospital, also in Benevento, where there is a pediatric intensive therapy; but the child’s condition worsened to the point that another transfer was necessary, two days ago, to the specialized pediatric center in the Campania capital.
The little one, carried with helicopter rescue, immediately appeared serious and hospitalized with a reserved prognosis. Death today.
Autopsy arranged
Family members have been heard several times by carabinieri of the provincial command of Benevento, who are conducting the investigations, but have not been able to explain how the little boy got the severe hematoma on his head. The little one is the son of a young couple, who also has another older daughter.
Now it will be the autopsy, ordered by the Samnite Public Prosecutor’s Office, to establish the causes that led to the death of the child. A forensic expert opinion era already in progress before the situation worsened.

The carabinieri, coordinated by the prosecutor Aldo Policastro, continue to investigate at three hundred and sixty degrees to establish the causes that led to the injury that then led to the death of the child.
