In May 2018, the International Ice Hockey Federation voted in Copenhagen and unanimously passed a motion on Chinese men’s and women’s ice hockey teams directly qualifying for the 2022 Winter Olympics. At that plenary meeting, the motion received unanimous support of 47 votes.

The news also mentioned the summary of the International Ice Federation Council meeting on the ice hockey test activities of the “Meet in Beijing” Winter Olympics. In November, the testing activities conducted at the National Stadium and Beijing Wukesong Sports Center tested the hardware and software facilities involved in the entire competition process. The council believes that after testing, the two venues meet the conditions for the Winter Olympics to host ice hockey matches.

According to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics ice hockey schedule announced by the International Ice Hockey Federation, the National Stadium and Wukesong Sports Center will host 58 ice hockey matches within 18 days. The women’s ice hockey matches of the Beijing Winter Olympics will be held from February 3 to 17, and the men’s ice hockey matches will be held from February 9 to 20.
