The return to Earth forecast is for 2:24 am on Sunday 9 May, but with a time window of uncertainty of 6 hours. All stages of the return will be followed, with analyzes and updates on the evolution of operations, from the technical table composed of ASI, (Italian Space Agency), a member of the office of the Military Advisor of the Prime Minister, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior – Fire Department , Defense – Coi, Air Force – Isoc and Foreign Affairs, ENAC, ENAV, Ispra and the Special Civil Protection Commission of the Conference of Regions. Those potentially affected will then be kept informed.
Civil protection: what to do
The Operational Committee of the Civil Protection advises to stay indoors and not in open places, since “it is unlikely that the fragments cause the collapse of buildings. “It weighs 22 tons, is 30 meters long and 5 meters wide, on its descent at a speed of 18 thousand kilometers per hour it will disintegrate into various debris, but even here the chances of remaining important fragments are slim. But if that were to happen here are some useful information for the population to responsibly adopt self-protection behaviors: avoid being outdoors, and even if the fragments are unlikely to cause the collapse of buildings, it is advisable to stay away from windows and glass doors.

If some fragments are found, it is generally recommended that not to touch them and to keep a distance of at least 20 meters, and immediately report it to the authorities.
