Luigi Greco wanted the coach of the Broni promotion “In the new category I will find many valuable coaches”
After a painful salvation in the last Promotion tournament, Bressana is ready to write a new chapter in its history. The orange club, led by patron Luigi Greco, has chosen the emerging Cristiano Civardi, 41, as the new coach. Civardi, a stradellino, has accumulated a long experience as a coach in the youth field, from the Pulcini to the Juniores, and during the last season, which began as Didi Bernini’s deputy, he took the helm of the Broni, piloting it towards the regional playoffs of Second category.
«I met the Greek president when there were still several days to go until the end of the championship. We talked to each other and we immediately liked each other, we are two very passionate. I also had the opportunity to be assistant coach of Oltrepo, alongside mister Albertini, but I preferred to get involved in Bressana, with the Greek president there was an immediate harmony. I will go and compare myself with experienced coaches such as Pagano, Nordi and Quaranta, to name a few, but I am certainly very hungry and willing to do “, says Mr. Civardi.
The last championship in Broni left him so proud: «I have to thank the president, who was the first to believe in me. We did something extraordinary, always bringing 300 people to the stadium. I feel honored to have been part of that Broni, and I want to share this thought with all the players and managers ».
The Bressana that is taking shape will have a precise physiognomy: «The idea is to assemble a group that is the right mix between experienced and young players. I am happy with the arrivals of Cigagna and Farina, two golden boys who have the right mentality. Then we will start again with players already tested in the category such as Barcella, Greco and Mannozzi, alongside young prospects such as Bruni, Mezzio and Scrivani. The first objective is to bring the ship to port as soon as possible, avoiding too many worries ». Mister Civardi, who will be assisted by the trusted collaborator Simone Castoldi, and by the athletic trainer Federico Lazzari, traces the course of his Bressana: «As modules, I like 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1. The intention is to focus on a proactive football, without losing sight of the balance ». –
