SAINT STEFANO DI CADORE
Petra Vlhová celebrated her first overall World Cup at the weekend in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. To celebrate with the Slovak champion there was also Matteo Baldissarutti, the technician from Santo Stefano di Cadore who is part of Petra’s almost entirely Italian staff.
“Between travel and limitations related to Covid, we have had little party, indeed almost nothing for the moment”, smiles the Comelian. «But the satisfaction is immense: winning the world cup is the dream of a skier but also of a technician. It means that you have been strong not in one day, but in a whole season. Petra was fantastic, physically and mentally. In February, just in correspondence with the World Championships in Cortina, she had an expected decline, after all, but she still managed to win silver in combined and slalom and then to get back on condition ».
The competitive season is over, in glory, but the work will continue intense also in the next few days.
«From tomorrow to Saturday we will be in Slovakia for material tests. Then a few days at home for Easter and then back to Slovakia for two training sessions. In short, we do not stop. And we are already thinking about what we will still be able to do, first of all at the Olympics ». –
