ROME (ITALPRESS) – The presidents of ten national sports federations, members by right of the Coni National Council, met to sign a unitary document in view of the elections of the Olympic Committee scheduled for next May 13 in Milan. The ten presidents are Giuseppe Abbagnale (rowing), Carlo Beninati (badminton), Giovanni Copioli (motorcycling), Francesco Ettorre (sailing), Stefano Mei (athletics), Sergio Mignardi (field hockey), Enzo Resciniti (sports dance), Mario Scarzella (archery), Luciano Serafica (water skiing and wakeboarding), Antonio Urso (weightlifting). The unanimously signed document highlights the following programmatic points: unconditional support for the candidate for president Giovanni Malagó; request for total renewal within the National Council of federal presidents elected with respect to the last four years; request for the presence of a representative of the non-Olympic federations among the elected federal presidents; identification of this representative in the field of motor sports and with this in mind unconditional support for the candidacy of Giovanni Copioli, president of the Italian Motorcycle Federation.
