TREVISO

Let’s start once again. We start running again. Today in the capital of the Marca the 31st Corrirreviso is staged, the road race combined with the Lattebusche Trophy. It will be an event in its own historical way: it is in fact the first FIDAL road race to take place in Veneto since the outbreak of the pandemic.

It will be run respecting the organizational protocol provided by FIDAL. Obligation of interpersonal distancing, hand sanitation, access control to the starting area, mask worn for the first 500 meters of the race.

There are 650 members, coming from all over the Northeast. It will be the competition of many simple enthusiasts – men and women of all ages – who, after the cancellation of the 2020 edition, will return to try their hand at one of the most classic end of spring events. But there will also be athletes of national value.

In the men’s field, the home stars are back, Paolo Zanatta and Simone Gobbo, both from Trevisatletica: the first has already won the race in 2013 and 2015, the second in 2016, and was the last athlete of Marca in triumph at the finish line in Piazza dei Signori. Stefano Ghenda (Trevisatletica), Tobia Beltrame (Trieste Atletica), Peter Lanziner (Sudtirol Team Club), the young Andrea Mason (Silca Ultralite), Michael Hofer (SV Dorf Tirol), Georg Premstaller (DLF Tirol Sarntal) will also fight for an important placement. ) and Omar Zampis (Assindustria Sport).

Among the women, the spotlight is on Laura Dalla MontĆ  (Assindustria Sport), specialist in 3000 steeplechase, fresh from the first call in blue for the team European Championships in Chorzow. To follow also Laura Biagetti (Gs Lammari), eighth to the last absolute Italians of the 10,000, Beatrice Scarpini (Montello Runners Club), winner of the Half of Treviso in 2019, and the athlete of Cape Verdean origin Sonia Lopes (Boscaini Runners).

The Corritreviso of the restart will also have some special guests at the start: the former blue marathoner Salvatore Bettiol, born in 1961, icon of the Treviso running movement (two Olympic participations, second in the New York marathon in 1988 and in London in 1990), on the way back, out of pure passion, in a federal race about ten years after the last time. The South Tyrolean Hermann Achmuller, protagonist in several early Treviso Marathon, will also be at the start. Also announced the mayor Mario Conte, and the colleague of Preganziol, Paolo Galeano, who will be accompanied by the councilor Riccardo Bovo (registered with Asd Corritreviso).

The track will have a development of 2.6 km, in the historic center, and the athletes will have to cover it four times, up to a total distance of 10.4 km. Departure and arrival will be in Piazza Duomo. Corritreviso thus temporarily leaves the traditional setting of Piazza dei Signori, where spaces are more restricted and the management of the Covid-19 protocol would have been less easy.

It will run in the evening, as in some seasons now, but without the prologue of the youth competitions. At 8.15 pm the women’s competition for all age groups will start, in combination with the masters of the SM50 and later categories. At 9.30 pm it will be the turn of the remaining male categories, including the absolute sector. Guaranteed entertainment, with the addition of the charm of the restart. –
