IVREA

In front of about sixty people, the 2021-22 ski season of the Ivrea Ski Club was presented on Thursday 11th at Canottieri Sirio. The new president Francesco Rao (successor of Sebastiano Bombaci), explains: «As our goal we have the growth of this movement – says Rao -. First of all, also this year we will organize the beginner courses for children and adults of skiing and snowboarding which will suffer on Sunday 28 November and will end on Sunday 19 December. Four training Sundays held by qualified ski instructors, most likely in Valtournenche, in the Aosta Valley. We will also do winter ski and snowboard courses, with the program that will instead run from Sunday 26 January to Sunday 13 February and which we will run according to the snow conditions ».

«In addition to the autumn and winter beginner courses, however, we also thought about the 2022-2023 season by implementing a project called SciAmo, aimed at primary school and, in particular, at boys and girls who attend fifth grade. In close collaboration with the municipal administration of Ivrea, our idea is to go to schools to talk about mountains and mountain culture in the practice of winter sports, promoting a lifestyle ».

«This project, however, will begin in October of next October, hoping to create the right curiosity in the students, in order to create a path of growth and knowledge of the territory regarding alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and snowboarding.

At the competitive level, the season will begin on Sunday 2 January with the Fisi races and the Canavese Cup (the official calendar with the various races should be released in the coming weeks).

«A novelty that we want to introduce – concludes Rao – is to bring also and above all the disabled on the ski slopes, because this sport must be inclusive. During the evening we noticed a great desire to start over. There is the desire on the part of everyone to live a normal life, all in full compliance with the anti Covid-19 regulations in force. We cannot and we do not want to exempt ourselves from this aspect ». –
