Rome, November 18, 2021 – There is expectation for the new bulletin on the emergency Covid in Italy after yesterday the threshold of 10 thousand daily infections was exceeded. The data of the Veneto of the last 24 hours, the first to be released, anticipate a further leap in the epidemic: there is in fact a new peak with 1,603 new Sars-Cov2 positives, four victims.
Meanwhile the Gimbe Foundation publishes the new weekly monitoring. In the week from 10 to 16 November there was a “net increase in viral circulation with hospital impact” at the moment contained “thanks to vaccinations”, the Foundation said in its report. Compared to the previous one, there was an increase of 32.2% of new cases (54,370 compared to 41,091), hospitalizations rose by 15.5%, intensive care by 14.3%. In one month, the daily average of infections tripled “from 2,456 on October 15 to 7,767 on November 16”.
A focus is dedicated toincidence, which exceeds 150 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in 7 province: these are Trieste, Bolzano, Gorizia, La Spezia, Forlì-Cesena, Padua and Vicenza.
