Rome, January 5, 2022 – Numbers still rising in the first data on contagion arriving of today’s bulletin on the Covid in Italy, which will also take stock of the number of dead and on hospitalizations. The occupancy rate of beds in hospital wards is still increasing, rising to 20% at national level and, in 24 hours, growing in 13 regions, reaching more critical levels in Valle d’Aosta (47%), Calabria (32% ), Liguria (31%) and Umbria (with + 3% it reaches 27%). The beds in intensive care occupied by patients with Covid-19 remain at 15% nationally but are growing in 6 regions: Abruzzo (13%), Basilicata (4%), Lombardy (15%), Bolzano PA (19%), Piedmont (19% ) and in Valle d’Aosta (with a + 3% they reach 12%).

In Tuscany I am 16,957 and contagion (5,897 confirmed with molecular swab and 11,060 by rapid antigen test). Others register 11 deaths – 4 men and 7 women with an average age of 74.6 years, residing in the provinces of Florence (5), Pistoia (1), Massa Carrara (1), Pisa (1), Arezzo (2), Siena (1 ) – bringing the total to 7,599 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. The shelters still rise and are now approaching one thousand: they are 961, 54 more than yesterday, of which 90 in intensive care, 5 more. These are some data disseminated by the Region.
New record of infections in Veneto, expected after the holidays, are 269 more than yesterday: 16.871, compared to 24 people who lost their lives to Covid, making the total count rise to 12,473. The total of positives since the beginning of the pandemic exceeds the ceiling of 700 thousand. The current ones are 136,723, 12,364 more than yesterday. The city with the most infections is Verona (3,315), followed by Padua (3,016), Vicenza (3,020), Treviso (2,917), Venice (2,633). They grow slower than instead, hospital admissions: 1,395 in non-critical area (+29) and 211 in intensive care (+2).
New peak of Coronavirus cases also in Market: in 24 hours they are 2.147 and the incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants approaches 700 (697.87); also records of swabs / tests (over 25 thousand). Once again the highest number of infections was detected in the province of Ancona (651), followed by Fermo (469), Ascoli Piceno (356), Macerata (291), Pesaro Urbino (231); 149 cases from outside the region.
