Cycling, Sagan fined for violating the curfew: “I apologize” – Sports – Other Sports

Rome, 22 November 2021 – A bad episode involved Peter at the end of April Sagan in Montecarlo. As reported by Cyclingnews, which reports Monegasque sources, the Slovak sprinter allegedly violated the curfew on April 25 during the lockdown, all while intoxicated and with the wounding of a police officer. Sagan allegedly ‘fought like a madman’ in custody and an officer injured his hand.

Fine of 5 thousand euros

Sagan was fined today by the court for a sum of 5 thousand euros. The facts date back to the end of April, when Sagan and his brother allegedly violated the curfew with the aggravating circumstance of the state of intoxication at the time of being arrested at the end of an evening. Sagan later refused to go to the hospital and fought and kicked, in the episode an officer injured his hand. In addition to the 5 thousand euros for Sagan also 1,500 euros in civil expenses. The cyclist, as reported by Cyclingnews, has apologized for what happened.
