Spectacular third place for the Italian national roller skating team at the World Championships in Asunciòn, in Paraguay.
Martina Casanova and Laura Dal Bò from Belluno, young instructors from the Skating club Sedico (the company in which they grew up) and now color bearers of the Show Roller Team of Vazzola celebrate, as if it were a gold medal.
The Italian national team came from the incredible second place at the European roller skating championships but had anything but desire to settle. Thus, in the night between Saturday and Sunday, the team of which Casanova and Dal Bò are two of the most skilled interpreters managed to touch the top of the world, climbing on the third step of the podium.
“We didn’t expect anything”, comments the Azzurri team on their return from the triumphal trip overseas, “if not trying to give our best on the track, with all the emotions we felt and trying to transfer them to all the supporters, to the judges and people who love us ».
The Italian delegation was followed by the accompanying executive and Covid manager Francesca Iaria.
«For us at Sedico it was the first time that we participated in a world championship. For this reason “, explains Iaria,” we were even more full of joy because obviously it is a wonderful feeling to participate in a world championship. We were unable to celebrate there because, even for Covid, we finished the race at 10pm and at 3am we already had the first flight. But we will celebrate when we arrive, with the Vazzola team, which also includes our two girls. As for Sedico, we were followed a lot even in the middle of the night ».
Even the councilor for sport of the municipality of Sedico, Sebastiano Casoni, who a few days ago went to wish the two athletes the best of luck, congratulated «Laura, Martina and the whole team».
Martina and Laura have been training in Vazzola for a couple of years but continue to be part of the group of coaches of the Skating club of Sedico, for which they follow both competitive and amateur teams. The two Belluno skaters come down to Vazzola, in the province of Treviso, at least four times a week to train together with the local group. They had qualified for the European Championships in Spain with a choreography entitled Rebirth which had given them the title of European vice-champions. Now, in America, a third place in the world of inestimable value.
