Over 250 participants and unanimous approval for the route and organization: the first edition of the Tamo – Trail of the West Morainic Amphitheater was a success, both from a sporting and organizational point of view. Respectable numbers, especially in the post-Covid era: 126 those enrolled in the competitive 16 km, 130 for the less demanding 4 km.
The satisfaction of the president of Podistica Bairese, Stiv Meadaina, is full and legitimate: “Organizing a trail, compared to the classic road race, is much more demanding: the route is longer, it takes place mainly on paths, so it is necessary to trace it and take care of it in the days before the race. But it is absolutely worth it: it is an excellent tool to enhance our territory and above all the stretches through the vineyards have been very suggestive ». La Podistica Bairese is about to celebrate 50 years of activity (it was founded in 1974), but it is constantly looking for new things: “It is essential to keep up with the times – comments Medaina – and this is also why we have focused on trail more recent and captivating and on an organization attentive not only to the competitive aspect, but also to the recreational one. The “third time” we proposed was much appreciated by the athletes, amateurs, their companions and the public ».
The victory went to Daniele Gallon of Atletica Canavesana, who covered the 16 km in 1 h 09 ’16 “, leaving behind the second classified, Simone Cordera (Battaglio CUS Torino), who stopped the clock on time. 1h 10 ’40 “; third step of the podium for Stefano Ros Vacca (APD Pont Saint Martin, 1h 15 ‘018 ”). First woman to cross the finish line was Luisa Rocchia (Polisportiva Valmalone), who finished eighth overall in 1h 17’41 ”. For the winner Gallon this is the first absolute success of the season, after a series of good placings and four category victories in the five races disputed this season. Podistica Bairese, organizer of the event, was the most represented company, with 22 athletes at the start. –
