The Sassari coach: “Games are won if everyone gives something”

SASSARI. Third European match and third defeat for Banco di Sardegna, beaten 87-79 at PalaSerradimigni by Prometey. At Dinamo the crisis is open: the first to admit it is coach Demis Cavina. “We have to find confidence, we have to take responsibility, I for one, in a group there are different responsibilities but the games are won if we have something from everyone”, is Cavina’s analysis.

In the last match, in Sassari, she started well, dominating the first half and reaching +16 before allowing the Ukrainians of the former Miro Bilan – applauded, rewarded and regretted – to return to the game and find the decisive break in the final. “We have played the best first half in Europe so far,” says the Sassari coach after his third stop in the Champions League out of three games, two of which at home. “The biggest mistake was allowing Prometey to gain confidence and recover, placing a break between the second and third quarters that took away our confidence,” he says.

“In the end we had huge problems in defense, even on their pick & roll, in the last few minutes we played with a completely different energy from the start,” he admits. But yesterday’s bad night is not an isolated episode. “We need trust, a tough game from everyone, with continuity,” he declares. “We have to find each other as quickly as possible, without making the mistake of going to pieces,” asks Cavina. “We play together, we all play, we don’t have long rotations but to win you need to play as a team,” he insists.

“In the first half not everyone played well, but everyone defended well – he says – in the second half we broke up”. Now there is Olimpia and according to the coach «the Milan match will help us because we will not have any pressure». (HANDLE).
