No climbing in the Dolomites… Onescu. Montebelluna yielded to the Belluno players, yesterday in a “short-nosed” version, failing to overturn the disadvantage suffered in the first half with an excellent recovery – only shot on goal. The Romanian winger scored the match, while Fasan (and the whole Monte) cursed the post and wasted opportunities in the second 45 minutes. Two notes for the biancocelesti, who from the Feltrina derby would have deserved to collect at least one draw: more precision in the final phase, more uniformity between the first and second fractions. The sides? Rhombus midfield for the Montebelluna band, with D’Arrigo running around behind Fasan and Madiotto. On the opposite side, Sivilla makes the elastic, transforming the “base” 4-4-2 into 4-3-3. Initial phases in the sign of balance, the respective defenses skilful hinges. The fog that envelops the Montello goes well with the tension that seems to harness the two teams. Almost in the quarter of an hour, the first clear chance is marked Monte: D’Arrigo takes advantage of Lombardi’s sudden exit, the Belluno rearguard foils on the line (13 ‘). The Dolomites? A lot of determination, but an obvious difficulty in attacking the opponent’s area: after an abundant half hour, on the notebook there is only a kick from Cossalter who died on the side.

But sometimes football belies any tactical premise. Cossalter’s attempt points the way to the Belluno people. They acquire verve and confidence. Enough to take the lead, in five minutes: from the center of the area the former Corbanese fishing Onescu, who places the paw of 0-1. Montellian defense under accusation: the scorer was able to aim undisturbed. Good that Fabbian, shortly after, redeems himself, stealing the ball from the “Cobra”, launched in a counterattack probably destined to be successful. The score at the interval, after all, is not entirely undeserved for Fasan and his associates. But Monte, dragged by its number 10, sheds its skin in the second half. Another match. Another game, another rhythm. Fasan climbs into the chair: first they deny him the sub-goal, then he nullifies a perfect restart, letting Lombardi close the mirror. So, to inject gasoline to the comeback attempt, Bordin opts for a triple replacement in a single bang: inside De Min, Visinoni, Abdulai. The result is an unbalanced set-up: four on the attack line. Scandilori, still among the best, directs weakly into Lombardi’s arms. But it is the signal that confirms the unidirectional trend of the match.

Fasan, after yet another biancoceleste corner, takes a pole (32 ‘). A siege that deserves more luck. Also because, on the Dolomites front, the watchword is to defend. Not an initiative on the part of Corbanese and his companions. Fasan, a constant pitfall for the Belluno players, also claims a penalty within a whisker of 90 ‘. A territorial domination and in the game that is however unproductive. A lively recovery that does not translate into goals. And it would be a real injustice to catch the doubling as well: Bonato, at the end, saves on De Paoli, author of the second shot on goal in Belluno – including the goal – of the whole match.

Francesco Bordin, coach of Montelliani, immediately goes straight to the point: «You have all seen the match. I can only complain about a too shy first half, but the second half was our boarding from the first to the last minute. We dominated, unfortunately we were mocked by the episodes. With Fasan we took a piece of wood, it is not the first this year: it will mean that we will … move that pole. I can only congratulate the boys on how they played in the second half. Maybe we just need to get smarter. And, above all, it would take more determination to attack the door ».
