Dolomites, the move is in a year. Work on the Polisportivo to start in 2023
The movable tribunes will be assembled again

The team will play in Belluno also in the next championship. For now, only the track will be completed. Fant: “The restyling of the stadium is part of another contract”

BELLUNO

The restructuring of the Polisportivo is postponed to next year. Presumably, therefore, it will be the 2023-2024 season to be played far from Belluno, not the upcoming one.

This is because the process linked to the planning of the works necessary for the adaptation of the city system is still long. To resolve the doubt is the manager of the Belluno Dolomites with responsibility for the sports facilities, Claudio “Caio” Fantin line with what the municipal councilor for sport Marco Bogo had declared.

On the other hand, the transformation times of the Sedico sports center will be faster, where a synthetic training center and a series of annexed spaces will be built that will make the structure more and more suited to the needs of the football association. All through public funding – border funds – and private.

APPOINTMENT IN 2024?

The story of the Polisportivo is quite clear. The municipality of Belluno obtained through the urban regeneration call for the 3.7 million euros necessary for the profound restyling of the stands, changing rooms and various annexed spaces.

The structure is now obsolete and it should not be forgotten how the two concrete steps have been more than reduced for a year due to the static situation of the same.

In addition, the changing rooms must be enlarged, the spaces adapted to the needs changed over time. Not to mention those preparatory interventions to make the system homologable in the event of promotion to the C series: installation of child seats, upgrading of the lighting system and so on. But the season starting in September will still be played in the “old” Polisportivo.

“In these summer months the only works will concern the reconstruction of the athletics track,” explains Fant. «They are part of another contract and have therefore followed their own process. The complete modernization of the stadium should instead begin in 2023, I presume at the end of the championship. Once the new municipal administration has been established, we and the other sports realities that use the stadium will dialogue together with those who have to prepare the project. It is therefore not an immediate thing, even if there is money ».

However, in September the championship may not be excluded from the Zugni Tauro in Feltre.

«It depends on when the construction of the track will be completed and if this will hinder the regular running of the matches. Maybe we will move pending the conclusion of the works, as happened at the beginning of the recently concluded championship. At the Polisportivo, on the other hand, the mobile stands will be mounted again, in order to make up for the issue of reduced capacity ».

SEDICO TRANSFORMED

If Belluno wants to become a suitable stadium for high-level championships, Sedico is ready to become a cutting-edge sports center.

The border funds will make it possible to create a synthetic where there is the training ground in sand, thus increasing the spaces available both for the Dolomiti Bellunesi and for other sports clubs.

But in addition, Dolomiti itself is ready to announce an important investment out of its own pocket, with the help of other private individuals.

«We will talk about it officially shortly», explains Fant at last, «but we will build a locker room, another synthetic pitch and other general improvements. All in a very short time ».
