Beijing time on January 16, after beating the Celtics, the 76ers have won 9 of the past 11 games. With just four weeks left until the NBA trade deadline, Sixers star Embiid said of the team’s roster, “There is no urgency to change anything.”

In yesterday’s 111-99 win over the Celtics, Embiid had 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. “I feel great right now,” he said in an interview.

“When our roster is complete, especially when I’m on the floor, we’re 21-9, which is pretty good, pretty much the best record in the NBA. All that said, we just need to stay healthy and keep going. Do what we do now,” Embiid continued.

“I feel great, I don’t think we’re at our best yet, we still have a long way to go,” Embiid added. “We still have guys out who can really help the team. So, there’s no urgency to change anything. I feel like we have everything we need right now. We’re going to move on and I’m happy right now.”

The 76ers have all played without Simmons this season, and since Simmons asked for a trade, he and the team haven’t come to terms. And when Embiid played, the Sixers won 70 percent of the games and outscored opponents by 6.9 points per 100 possessions.

Although the Simmons trade has not been settled, Embiid said he believes the 76ers can win with their existing roster, but at the same time it will require a near-perfect performance from the 76ers.

“I do think so,” Embiid said. “I think we all have to play our best. When we’re at our best, I think we can beat any team. We’ve seen it a lot this season. So, we need to keep doing what we’re doing now, and we need everyone to maintain stability.”

“We need stability, everyone is on the court with a goal, doing their job well, putting their heart and soul on both ends of the floor, playing together basketball, and we’ll be fine,” Embiid said.Return to Sohu, see more
