England, white deer gets lost in the city. Killed by the police – Foreign

The white deer especially in the suburbs of Liverpool

Liverpool, 29 September 2021 – A rare specimen of white deer was shot down by the police a Bootle, near Liverpool, England, amidst the controversy of animal rights associations. The RSPCA – Society for the Protection of Animals – had recommended that the animal be recovered and returned to its environment. The deer had been reported as it wandered the streets of the town on Sunday morning. The killing dates back to the evening of the same day. The agents decided to suppress him, after unsuccessfully trying to cedar and capture him alive, thanks also to the intervention of a veterinarian. The ‘hunt’ lasted hours without reaching the goal. In the end it was estimated that, with the onset of darkness, the deer – increasingly frightened – would be a danger, especially for motorists and cyclists.
The news was widely reported in the British media. The deputy police chief defended the decision of his men and explained that every effort was made to save the animal’s life. But the risk to people’s safety was too high. Wildlife in Britain is also becoming more ‘urban’. A clearly visible change in Italy, where it is now normal to see wild boars – even little families – that run around in the center of our cities, starting from Roma.
