In June, the Tramatza track hosts the Sardinian GP, the third round of the World Championship

ORISTANO. On 4 and 5 June the Supermoto World Championship lands for the first time in the province of Oristano. The Tramatza track, the Sardinia Circuit racing, 1600 meters long and enriched by the new dirt track of 400 meters, will host the Sardinian GP, the third round of the 2022 Championship. “I am very happy – says Maria Sebastiana Moro, Mayor of Tramatza -, behind this result there is a work of years. It is also the award for the property’s foresight, which had a long-range vision. There is a lot of pride and satisfaction ».

Meanwhile, the first positive effects are seen. “The event has already created some movement for the activities in the area – confirms the mayor -, which can finally draw oxygen after years of difficulty”.

The manager of the plant, Gianfranco Sulis, was also satisfied: «Finally, after a long wait, we were able to bring the Supermoto World Championship here. A great job has been done and the track deserves it because it is really beautiful. Many in Northern Italy do not know it and will be surprised. We aim to confirm the stage in the coming seasons. We hope for a good participation of the public ».

Danilo Boccadolce of Xiem, promoter of the event and organizer of the six Italian stages, reveals how it all started: “While last year I was in Riola for the Motocross World Championship, which we always manage on behalf of Infront, I came to know for case of the existence of a circuit in Tramatza. So I did an inspection, meeting the owner and the manager of the circuit, and I saw that by making the necessary changes and updates, he could host the Supermoto World Championship. At that point, with the blessing of the Regional Tourism Councilor Gianni Chessa, and the Mayor of Tramatza, we did the necessary work. The International Federation is enthusiastic. 32 pilots will arrive: we will have almost all of Europe present, Brazil and Australia. It will be a great international event, and between Riola and Tramatza a reference center will be created, where the riders will also come to support winter training ». The program includes 4 free practice sessions on Saturday in the morning, timed practice, Superpole and Race One in the afternoon. Sunday 5th warm-up and autograph session in the morning and Fast Race and Super Final in the afternoon.
