Club Milano and San Giuliano the most formidable rivals. For the resumption of the collegial preparation, the last ok of Coni and Figc is missing
PAVIA
The championship of Excellence will restart on Sunday 11 April, teams on the field every Sunday until 13 June with only one midweek round scheduled for 2 June. This is what has been decided in the comparison between the 33 companies that have decided to restart for a mini-season lasting two months and play for only three places to access the D series. The three-group format of 11 teams has seen the inclusion in group B of the four Pavia formations, together with various ambitious realities, from the City of San Giuliano to Club Milano and an Alcione that is getting stronger. Another big player, Sant’Angelo, would have instead decided to dismantle the squad to reduce part of the costs (at least so the president Rino Balzano declared not without spirit of controversy in the conference call on Monday evening with the leaders of Lombard amateur football). As for the verdicts, only the winners of the three groups will go up to D: stop of the FIGC in the playoffs; In the “normal” seasons, the Lombard teams promoted from Excellence to D were the winners of the groups plus another 2-3 teams through the national playoffs.
As for the restart, the Crl had proposed the date of Monday 5 April, Easter Monday, without midweek shifts, leaving room for any midweek “windows” for recovery matches or for a possible extension in the second fortnight of June. After the voting of the clubs, the final verdict was in favor of Sunday 11 April (with 19 votes to 14).
Workouts, the ok is still missing
By 5pm today, all regional committees will send their respective proposals on formats to the NLD; the National Amateur League in turn will transmit them to the FIGC. After this further, new step there should be (hopefully by the weekend) the green light for the recognition of the Excellence of the status of national interest by the Coni council, an act that would allow the resumption of collegiate training of the teams in view of the resumption competitive (at the moment, after the passage of Lombardy in the red zone, individual training is also blocked). The anti-Covid protocol will be the one already in force in D, with weekly swabs on Thursday or Friday for all players and staff; stop in case of positivity of more than 3 elements (two if they are the goalkeepers) or preventive provisions of the territorial Ats. Finally, the refreshments: the president Tavecchio quantified the sum requested from the Region at 150 thousand euros to cover the expenses incurred by the clubs. –
