Rovigo, 24 November 2021 – He was constituted in the Rovigo prison Fabrizio Miccolil’ex captain of Palermo definitively convicted a three years and six months of imprisonment on charges of aggravated extortion from mafia method. Miccoli was accompanied to prison by his lawyer Antonio Savoia, who complained about the dissemination of news concerning his client even before he was notified of the execution order. “He’s a broken man”, commented the lawyer. When asked why he was established in Rovigo, he replies: “He wanted to go far from his city, where nobody knows him”.
The judges of the second criminal section of the Cassation confirmed the January 2020 sentence of the Court of Appeal of Palermo. In the interceptions to the records of the Miccoli investigation, on behalf of the former Palermo physiotherapist, Giorgio Gasparini, commissionò a Mauro Lauricella, son of boss Antonino called “U Scintilluni” (in prison with a sentence of 7 years), the recovery of 12 thousand euros by Andrea Graffagnini, former owner of the “Paparazzi” disco in Isola delle Femmine.
In one of the interceptions with Mauro Lauricella, among other things, Miccoli defined Giovanni Falcone ‘mud’. And for those expressions in 2013 he apologized at a press conference, in tears, declaring: “I’m not a mafia”. “That expression has nothing to do with the investigation”, reiterates his defender.
Miccoli was accompanied to the Rovigo prison by some relatives. “He pleads innocent and is a disappointed man”, remarks the lawyer.
