On November 4, Beijing time, the Chinese Basketball Association announced that in the FIBA technical official certification physical fitness test conducted in January this year, Wei Guoliang and Ye Nan conspired to cheat, and the test was ultimately deemed invalid. The Basketball Association decided to revoke the technical qualifications of Wei Guoliang and Ye Nan as national basketball referees.
Ye Nan won the title of the top ten referees in the 19-20 season of the CBA League, and also whistled the 2019 Men’s Basketball World Cup held in China.

In the 2021-2023 FIBA Technical Official Certification Physical Fitness Test held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on January 6, 2021,Candidates Wei Guoliang and Ye Nan conspired to cheat and replaced the standard version with a non-standard version of the test music, which caused the actual test time to be extended by 20 seconds.The physical fitness test was deemed invalid by the FIBA, causing serious consequences and adverse effects.
According to the FIBA Technical Official Certification Regulations, the above two persons have not obtained the qualifications of the 2021-2023 International Technical Official Certification.
According to Article 47 of the “Chinese Basketball Association Referee Management Measures and Implementation Rules” and Article 61 of the “Chinese Basketball Association Disciplinary Guidelines and Punishment Regulations”, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association shall comply with the jurisdiction of the Chinese Basketball Association.It was decided to revoke the technical qualifications of Wei Guoliang and Ye Nan as national basketball referees from November 4, 2021. The Guangdong Provincial Basketball Association and Shandong Provincial Basketball Association will also impose corresponding penalties on Wei Guoliang and Ye Nan in accordance with regulations.
Basketball referees are the defenders of the court order and should lead by example and abide by the rules and disciplines. The Chinese Basketball Association will severely punish violations of regulations and disciplines. The Chinese Basketball Association has initiated the reform and construction of the referee management system and mechanism, including adjustment and enrichment of referee committees; strengthening of referees’ pre-job assessment and training; unified management of referee selection, supervision, assessment, and evaluation; cancellation of special rules for the CBA league judgment ; United FIBA to supervise and evaluate referees’ judgments; implement referee promotion and promotion to be linked to supervision and evaluation, and eliminate 10% of the last referees, improve referee incentive mechanisms, etc.Return to Sohu to see more
