The fugitives of the day are Mattia Bais e Filippo Tagliani (Drone Hopper-Androni Toys), which manage to achieve a maximum advantage of over 10′ before being reabsorbed to the group 13 km from the finish. At this point, thanks to an uphill finish (with a slope of 5% and maximum of8%), the race explodes: the first shot is of Oliver Naesen (AG2R Citroen Team), later imitated by Lennard Kamna (Bora-Hansgrohe).
