PAVONE CANAVESE

Silver with the Italian fly fishing team at the Zabreh World Championships in the Czech Republic last October. Lorenzo Milanesi, 53 years old in the plumbing profession of Pavone Canavese, is very satisfied with the experience gained in the Czech land not only for the podium achieved at the team level but also for the environment he has found and the fifth place at the individual level, as he remembers: «The merit of the second final place is to be divided among all the teammates as they all contributed with great commitment, enthusiasm and above all the ability to always seek the right concentration every day of competition. Our team, selected by the Technical Commissioner Edgardo Donà, was made up of Valerio Santi Amantini, Matteo De Martinis, Enrico Coton and Stefano Cominazzini, while the companions were Paolo Ricci and Carlo Sciaguri ».

Milanesi, beyond the placement achieved, in the Czech Republic has also improved two previous goals: at the team level after the third place in South Africa in 2018, now he has finished second, as mentioned, as well as individually, he has passed from the seventh position to the current fifth. “Improving was a goal that I particularly cared about – he explains – and I managed to hit it, an important result that gives me further enthusiasm to continue with this sport and better prepare for the next world championships, which will be held here in Italy, and will take place in July in Trentino Alto Adige. We are at home and we want to try to win the shiniest medal by climbing on the side step of the podium but to do so we will have to train in these months both in rivers, streams and lakes ». Milanesi is a sports lover, he is a Milan fan but he would never change football with fishing, a passion inherited from his father. –
