CALUSO

Dancing in the water with choreographies inspired by the latest musical trends: the competitive synchronized swimming team of Caluso climbed the peaks of the regional Uisp championship, which took place in different stages, between Turin and Saint Vincent. The last one, in the municipal swimming pool of Leinì, last Sunday 15 May, saw the young athletes of the young and rookie B category, conquering the victory in the combined specialty, emerging on 18 teams. An excellent second place also for the junior students, again in the combined, while in the specialty of the trio, the rookies A climbed to the third step of the podium. Great and well-deserved satisfaction for the coaches of the Calusian synchronized swimming team. They are the twin sisters Noemi and Sharon Fasone: both have a path of athletes behind them. “When the president of Libertas swimming Mauro Ferrero – says Noemi – asked us if they wanted to train the synchronized swimming team, we accepted with enthusiasm. Working every day, naturally excluding the period of the pandemic, when the swimming pools have also closed, we have succeeded. to get the team back on its feet by dividing it into age groups. The members are 38 with an age ranging from 6 to 17. The goal, after the successes achieved last Sunday, is to continue to improve by managing to compete in level competitions higher. We want to pass from Uisp to the Italian Swimming Federation and therefore compete on a national level. It will be our challenge for the next few years “. Meanwhile, the synchronized swimming athletes train every day after school in the swimming pool of the sports facilities in the Arè di Caluso district, managed by Libertas Swimming. The amateur sports association has been managing the municipal swimming pool of Caluso for over 20 years. –
