GARLASCO

After the resignation of president Alberto Poggio, the Garlaschese sports group has given itself a new board of directors, led by Francesco Zappia and which also includes Valerie Fouqueray Valerie (general accounting), Rossano Girai (head of walkers), Fabrizio Lazzarin (social media), Antonietta Mancini (secretary and head of Uisp reports), Giorgio Moschetti (director and head of Fidal reports), Andrea Zanquoghi (vice president and head of the cycling sector).

«My idea of sport – explains Zappia – is that competition and fun are balanced, together with relationships with others. We want to give the right importance to the competitive sector, leaving room for the social, in cooperation with other groups operating in the area. We have received the consent of many of our athletes after the “change of gear”, and we notice a good approval rating also from the opposing teams, to which we have “opened”, creating mutual collaboration for a healthier sport. The program includes: the involvement of children, in collaboration with schools and other sports groups in Garlasco, and the province in general, the restoration of the “Sports Day in the square” in Garlasco, and the historic May Day race in Garlasco, with part of the proceeds donated to local assistance bodies. Furthermore, participation in competitive competitions of national and international importance will have great attention thanks to the presence of athletes on all distances; the same will be for our group of walkers who have the same importance as the top runners ». –
