CASTELFRANCO
In the control room the Duetti Giorgione doubles. Anna Green is the new acquisition in B1, a setter class 2000 ex Fratte, Vicenza and Talmassons, who is the cousin of the current director Emma Bateman and with her will go to compose a pair of top-level lifters. Anna Green is the daughter of Craig Green, New Zealand star of Benetton Rugby and grew up in the Chions Fiume volleyball school, like her teammate (reconfirmed) Aurora Poser. With Roberta Grassotto definitively ending the career played by remaining in the club as a youth coach, Giorgione raises the stakes on the new season. Green presents himself like this: «I have always felt great attraction for the environment of Castelfranco – his first words as an athlete Giorgione -. From the outside you can see the cohesion between the athletes, the satisfaction and fun they try to play together and finally, thanks to the intercession of my cousin Emma, I will no longer face them as opponents but they will be my teammates ». Whether Green or Bateman will then take the field, this is all to be seen. Both guarantee a high level in B1: «The password is serenity – explains the most experienced Bateman, born in ’95 – We met and our goal will always be to make the team win. We will train to the maximum remaining available when there is space on the pitch ». Clear agreements long friendship. Indeed, long kinship. Anna and Emma are cousins with a very close relationship, for a long series of reasons and coincidences. They are daughters of two twin sisters both former volleyball players for some years in the same team (the Treviso twins Casarin, in the 90s in Serie A in Pordenone, coached by Anna’s discoverer, Glauco Sellan); they are daughters of English mother tongue fathers (father of English Emma, father of Anna the ex All Blacks Craig Green, partner of John Kirwan) and are linked by the same sporting passion that Anna actually inherited from Emma. “I’ve always seen Emma as my idol and thanks to her I started playing volleyball.” –
