Green pass and booking of vaccines, farewell to Raffaella Carrà, but also Mario Draghi, Spid, Zan’s bill, Maneskin and Matteo Berrettini. In the year still marked by the pandemic but also by the many sporting successes of our country, this is what Italians have searched for on Google.

The search engine publishes as usual “A Year of Research 2021”, a look at characters, questions, topics that stand out compared to last year, giving a point of view on the times we live in. In the list of the most typed words by Italians in the the last 12 months stand out the Green Pass and Raffaella Carrà, whose death on July 5 last moved all of Italy. In such an important year for Italian sport, among the top words there are the Europeans and Christian Eriksen (the Danish footballer who suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch), Champions League, Serie A (which is also among the most sought after events of the year), Roland Garros, Wimbledon and Matteo Berrettini.

Sign of the times, in the list there is also Classroom, the program for distance learning. Among the characters of 2021 who marked the peak of traffic on the search engine there are still many sportsmen such as Donnarumma, Janik Sinner, Federica Pellegrini, Marcell Jacobs; but also the show with the Maneskin, who had a golden year, and Orietta Berti. And there is also politics with Mario Draghi and Giuseppe Conte.
