The Hong Kong Lunar New Year Cup resumed after four years and saw a spectacular victory for the World Star Team, who defeated the Hong Kong Star Team of China with a score of 7:3. More than 20,000 spectators packed into the Hong Kong Stadium to celebrate the New Year with the stars.
