How to introduce the girls of La Granda to canoeing

A project to bring girls closer to sport. A scholarship to support them in their activity, living a unique experience. This is the idea of ​​the Asd Granda Canoa Club that presented Sport and Health with a tender. The project “Pink is just a color” was created to highlight the female world in sport “but also as a workhorse – explain the company – to demonstrate that the fair sex is up to any challenge that is activated” . Hundreds of sports associations from all over Italy participated in the tender, but only 134 projects were accepted, of which twenty from the Region and three from the Province of Cuneo: among these precisely that of the Cuneo-based association. «It will be a real path of growth. The contribution provided by Sport and Health will allow us to finance a year of free canoe kayak course for girls born between 2006 and 2010 – says the president Ilaria Samarelli -. A scholarship worth 650 euros, a unique opportunity to play outdoor sports and live incredible experiences. The project will still be multidisciplinary, so it will not only concern canoeing and also includes the support of a psychologist to enhance other aspects and gain self-confidence through sport. The seats available are about sixty ». The course will start in April 2022 and enrollments will end at the end of March. Then a selection will be made among the girls interested in the initiative. «During the webinar organized by Sport e Salute, the selected projects were defined as” the excellence of Italian sports planning “- he adds -. A definition that made us very proud, not only as an association, but for having, in some way, also given prominence to our beautiful province through a project aimed at girls “. The main seat of the canoe activity is in Cuneo, in the hamlet of Madonna delle Grazie, at the artificial lake Tetti del Lupo. Meanwhile, the Asd Granda Canoa Club is also working on the summer for boys in Gaiola which also provides a residential modality for children aged 8 to 13.
