How did the first days of preparation with Mr. Migliorini’s Treviso go?
«We are a completely new group, from the technical staff to the players. The spirit and the environment are right and the feelings positive. We left a little earlier to amalgamate the group and get to know each other better. Winning is never easy, we have to prepare ourselves as best we can to be ready. We started in a proactive way to prepare for what awaits us, it is obvious that it will take time because we have to join together as the national team showed us ».
You were the first purchase made official by Treviso and most likely you will also be the new team captain: what convinced you to wear the biancoceleste and what are the expectations for this adventure?
«I’m not very young anymore and I needed new stimuli. The company is doing things well, there is an important consortium behind it and there is a concrete future prospect. I could have stayed in Mestre or waited for other calls, but when Treviso asked me I didn’t think much about it: this project tickled me. Then, the role I could go to fill teases me. Finally, seeing the type of team we have and how the club has acted in recent months, I believe that the expectations are those of winning the championship ».
What are your characteristics and what can you give to this Treviso?
«I define myself as an attacking midfielder, but I’ve always played up front in recent years. In attack, apart from the central striker, I think I can cover every role: I like to vary, play between the lines and try to act as a glue between midfield and strikers. Being quite small and short, I try to exploit my speed in one-on-one and create numerical superiority in the offensive phase ».
Do you have personal goals for the new season?
«My goal is to prove to myself that I can do well even at this age. I want to give everything, without tricks and deceptions. I want to leave my mark in Treviso, the historic square and city where I have lived for a few years. Since I played for Venice, so for six years. Here in the area the “fallen” slowly rose again: Venice, Padua, Pordenone. Treviso is missing from the appeal, a city where you feel good and where you live from sport, see rugby and basketball.
