Imoco Volley, Carraro is the vice-Wolosz: “It’s my big chance”

Born in 1998, she was born and raised in San Donà: «Conegliano? Top club, I’ll do everything to help the team “

CONEGLIANO. Roberta Carraro will be the vice-Wolosz in the Imoco 2022/23 chessboard. It is a return to the base for the setter born in San Donà di Piave, born in 1998, 181 cm, who began her career in the noble youth sector of Imoco Volley San Donà and then took off. From 2016 we find her in A2 before her with Mondovì, then two years at Itas Trentino and in the last three seasons at Libertas Martignacco, now a classic “forge” for the first yellow and blue team. She is a player with excellent technical qualities, she has completed the maturation process and now she will be a valid alternative in the delicate role of “director” for next season’s Imoco. She will play with number 1.

Roberta, happy with the call from the “parent company”? Did you expect it?

“Obviously yes, I am very happy for this call primarily because it is a company and a team of the highest level, but above all having grown up in the Imoco youth teams, for me it is a great satisfaction to be able to play in the first team. a bit complicated year with some physical problems, so I certainly wasn’t expecting this call, but when I received it I had no doubts, I thought it was an opportunity to be seized. “

Can you tell us how your career went after leaving the San Dona ‘youth academy?

“After finishing the Under 18 in San Donà I went to Mondovì where I did my first season in A2 and I finished my high school course. Then I spent two years at the Trentino IT Delta, also in A2, with coach Nicola Negro, whom I had the pleasure of knowing when he was training the Panthers because sometimes in the preseason or during the year we young people integrated the training. Finally, these last three seasons I wore the shirt of Martignacco, which gave me the opportunity to play as a protagonist. It was six years in which I grew up athletically and I matured by relating and training in contexts other than those of the youth teams. Obviously one of my goals has always been to be able to reach the A1 series, and therefore the Imoco is the opportunity right. “

Giulia Gennari from Martignacco to Imoco, then national team and will now be the starter in A1, would you like to retrace her path?

“Giulia is an athlete that I respect a lot, even though I don’t know her. I think she is the representation of how, by rolling up your sleeves and working hard, you can reach your goals. I don’t know if my path will be similar to hers but I cannot deny that I would like to follow in his footsteps! “

Will having Wolosz every day as an example in training be important to you?

“I strongly believe that training is a source of improvement. My luck will be to be able to train with all athletes of great depth: first of all my equal role, Wolosz, who is certainly one of the best in the world. I think he is a very strong athlete, with undisputed technical skills, and above all very charismatic from which I hope to learn as much as possible both technically and tactically. “

What do you remember of Palaverde where you trained at the time of the San Donà youth teams with the first team?

“Many years have passed since I trained at Palaverde! I remember coming to train and some friendlies in the pre-season, in an inevitable setting of fans and enthusiasts. I was also at the stadium as a” spectator “in recent years and I’ve always hoped to be able to experience the warmth of Palaverde as a Pantera. “

It will be a busy season, do you plan to have space on the pitch?

“I have never played more than two competitions during a championship so I imagine that the commitments will be many and the tiredness will be felt. Surely when I am called into question I will do my best to help the team, in the match as in training”.
