Squisipizza is the winning team of the first edition of the D’la Madona tournament, a 5-a-side football event held in Salassa last Saturday, July 31 and organized by Aca members Bruno Cossano, Mirko Garau, Gigi Trompetto and Orazio Vinai.
The Castellamontese team in the final beat the hosts of the Pet Luv 4-0, after having eliminated the Berlin Calling in the semifinals 6-1 and the Bar Florida 2-0 in the quarter-finals. The latter was the only quarter not to have ended up on penalties. The Aria snc, after the 0-0 in regulation time against Berlin Calling, lost 6-7, the Ha Terza Media after the 2-2 with Ac Picchia was defeated 4-5, the same score also for the Pet of the Luv, who after having made 2-2, overcame the Techiavo on penalties, 5-4. On the other hand, in the final, the success of the Berlin Calling 3-1 over Ac Picchia.
The tournament, made up of 11 teams, divided into two groups, was affected by bad weather in its central phase, but the will of the players and organizers was stronger and at the end of the event the mayor of Salassa, Roberta Bianchetta handed over the prizes The social award went to FC Quipuoqua, the loyalty plaque to Techiavo (the team most present, eight times, at Acsi Aca tournaments in 2021). Individual awards for Gabriele Parla (Squisipizza) best player, Edoardo Paonessa (Ac Picchia) goalkeeper, Emilio Triumbari (Pet del Luv) forward and Stefano Roscio (Berlin Calling) defender.
At the end Mirko Garau recalled Carmelo Grosso, founder of Aca who recently passed away: «The Canavese referees association (Aca) was born in July 2012, the first tournament was done in Salassa and Grosso loved this territory very much. We are back about ten days after his death ». –
