It is not a Success, Udinese mocked in the final by Verona: in Friuli it ends 1-1

UDINE. Udinese plays, Verona takes home a point. At the Friuli stadium it ends 1-1 and is a bitter draw for Gotti’s team, which takes the lead after less than three minutes with the rookie Success and then dominates the game, but is mocked by a decidedly questionable penalty awarded to Hellas by ‘referee Marchetti ten minutes from the end for an intervention by Becao on Barak, then good at converting from the spot.

Certainly in Verona the heavy turnover decided by Tudor, seven changes compared to Sunday’s victory against Lazio, does not work. The hosts immediately found the advantage with Success, on his debut as a starter, who won the contrast with Ceccherini in the trocar and beat Montipò with a precise right pot.

In the first half there is no match, Udinese touches the goal several times: at 24 ‘Montipò opposes Nuytinck’s header, three minutes later Walace’s left ends not far from the goal, on the next corner the defender again Dutchman misses the target from a few steps and in the 33rd minute it takes a real miracle from the Verona goalkeeper to deflect Beto’s winning header on the post.

Before the break an attempt on the counterattack of the usual Beto and the second half opens in the same way, with the Portuguese forward frightening the host defense. With the changes of Tudor (inside Dawidowicz, Lazovic and Caprari for a dull Lasagna), Verona tries to react, but the only jolt is a high shot by Veloso from twenty meters and then the Croatian coach also sends Simeone on the field, a veteran from the four goals scored against Lazio, and then Ilic. Opportunities, however, are still the hosts with Molina and especially Pereyra, who forces Montipò to the umpteenth save on a precise right-footed turn.

In the end the joke arrives for Udinese: Pereyra anticipates Barak, who then ends up in contrast with Becao. For Marchetti it is a penalty, for Verona an unexpected draw.
